For my group's music marketing project we got rock as our genre. We chose to use the song My Name Is Human by Highly Suspect for our music video. So far we've discussed the theme of our video, some visual ideas for our video, along with our band logo, name, and slogan. We are also worked on the marketing, target audience, and distribution of our band after finishing our research charts.
The research chart helped us to figure out how varying rock groups market their music. We viewed what apps and websites they use to not only distribute but also connect with fans. It also gave us a better grasp of how this affects the target audience. Where one band might market towards adults on Facebook, others might market to teenagers on Instagram.
For the name of the band, we settled on Venus. Our theme is space along with warm tones and the color orange. We thought this would best fit the vibe of our song. Our target audience is teenagers and young adults and we would use social media accounts on Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat to attract these listeners. We are still currently discussing our logo and slogan but will get there soon. After that, we'll start storyboarding for our video and moving forward in the music video-making process.
